MULE DEER POINT RESTRICTION CHANGED FROM 4 TO 3 POINTS ON ONE SIDE

Posted 3/16/23 (Thu)

The latest scientific research indicates that antler point restrictions are detrimental to the antler size of the bucks in the given population. The antler restriction produces a genetic bottleneck and promotes poor genetics over a long period of time. In an effort to reduce the high potential of poor genetics within our mule deer population, the antler point restriction was reduced from 4 points to 3 points on one side. This reduction will reduce the potential for mature 3X3 mule deer (which is poor genetics) within our herds. The change is in effect for the 2023 season.
